Job Description

Okanagan Staffing Services is actively seeking experienced Accounting Professionals to join our temporary staffing pool for ongoing Payroll Administration opportunities. These roles support organizations across the Kelowna and Okanagan region and are ideal for payroll professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and have experience working in both union and non-union payroll settings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll functions, following established procedures for payroll production and employee data processing
  • Maintain and update employee data files and track benefit accumulation within computerized payroll systems
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding salary, benefits, deductions, and payroll policies
  • Make necessary corrections, adjustments, or payments related to payroll discrepancies
  • Produce and distribute pay statements, cheques, and related third-party and government remittances

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of payroll processing experience in medium to large-sized organizations
  • Accounting experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Great Plains
  • Advanced experience with payroll systems such as Ceridian, ADP, or Avanti
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of the Canadian Payroll Management Certificate Program
  • Positive team attitude, strong work ethic, and effective problem-solving skills
