Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant to join a dynamic law firm in Kelowna, specializing in family law. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including free parking in downtown Kelowna. The successful candidate will be working Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, with generous vacation time and a positive, supportive work environment.

As a Legal Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting litigation processes and maintaining client relations. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a background in family law and civil litigation who is looking to advance their career within a growing firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide litigation support, including legal research and preparing legal documents.
• Organize and manage documentation for court procedures and filings.
• Handle billing, invoicing, and client account management tasks.
• Manage client communications with professionalism and compassion.
• Oversee calendar management and schedule appointments for the legal team.
• Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and quickly learn new technology as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with a focus on civil litigation and family law.
• Familiarity with court procedures and legal documentation requirements.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office software applications.
• A professional demeanor with the ability to manage sensitive client matters with compassion and confidentiality.
